Summering in Nature!

A Bilingual Summer Program for the future nature stewards of the world.

Join us for Summering in Nature2026!

Registration OPEN!!!

Wild Hearts, Curious Minds: Summer Awaits! Give your child a summer of discovery with our boutique, drop-off nature camps. We trade screen time for sunshine, offering a hands-on journey through the great outdoors. From wildlife encounters and woodworking to Ranger talks and owl pellet dissections, every day is a new adventure. Through daily hikes and eco-art, campers don't just learn about nature—they become its fiercest protectors.

At Homeschooling in Nature, we foster a lifelong appreciation for the environment. Here, your child will find a peaceful space to grow, create, and develop a lasting bond with the natural world.  This Summer is about building confidence, sparking curiosity, and having the time of their lives in the wild!

A 7:1 ratio with a biologist, educator, and trained naturalists. Locations vary.

  • Minimum 7 campers to run a session

Summer Sessions 2026

9am - 2pm

Sessions are Mon-Thur. Sessions 1-4 are in Escondido, while Sessions 5-6 are in Coastal regions. Rates vary for partial weeks, and priority will be given to those signing up for full weeks.

There is a one-time Registration Fee of $30 first child, $20 siblings (non-refundable). Reg fee is waived if registering for at least 4 full sessions.

INLAND SESSIONS (Escondido area)

Safe and informed exploration of creeks and other water ways:

  • Explorations guided by a biologist & educator, guaranteeing the safety of the campers. Different to other programs in the area, we avoid direct contact with creek waters in ALL our programs in San Diego County due to poor water quality, which can pose health risks to children, especially during summer months.

Wildlife encounters

  • Children have the chance to experience safe, close-up encounters with wildlife, which are both awe-inspiring and deeply educational. These moments foster a meaningful connection to nature and help kids develop a lasting appreciation and respect for wild animals.

Science is cool!

  • At camp, children dive into hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and lead to critical thinking and a deeper understanding on our natural world. Through exploration and discovery, they develop problem-solving skills, learn to ask meaningful questions, and build a strong foundation for scientific thinking that extends beyond camp into everyday life.

Nature-friendly and sustainable crafting

  • Children create nature-inspired crafts using recycled and earth-friendly materials—avoiding plastics and other pollutants—to support local wildlife. These innovative and creative projects not only nurture artistic expression but are also easy to replicate at home, encouraging sustainable practices beyond the camp experience.

COASTAL SESSIONS (Encinitas, Del Mar)

It’s hot! ¡Que calor!

As summer heats up we explore the coastal regions & beaches! Days full of new adventures, wildlife encounters, discovery hikes, meeting with the Rangers, and lots of nature play!

Coastal Sessions meet at different locations each day of the week. For exact locations, please contact us!

Capacity & Waitlist

Because Summering in Nature is a small-scale Program ran by biologists and independent educators, capacity is very limited. A waitlist is available, but the child must be pre-registered, so that in the event of a cancellation, your child can start immediately. Session fees will be prorated to the days the child attends.

Last day to register is the Friday prior to the beginning of a Session, but we recommend signing up early as space is limited.
